1. Item the first

I'm completely enamored of Ok Go's new album: Oh no.

I bought Oh no because Ira Glass has repeatedly used the first track, "Invincible," on This American Life. Oh, yeah, and Benjie likes them. (At least he did about two years ago, which I think is the last time I rode anywhere in his car.) After one listen, I was completely hooked, especially by tracks nine ("Let it rain"), eleven ("Television, television") and twelve ("Maybe, this time.")

The only song I just can't handle is track five ("Oh lately it's so quiet") which reminds me too much of John Mayer to hold my interest for long. (Apologies to all the John Mayer lovers out there.)

2. Item the second

Some of you have mentioned you'd like to read my work blog. I've been trying to figure a way for those of you who actually know me to read it, while keeping potential stalkers at bay.

Here's the solution. Those of you who actually know me will therefore know my real name. Type my real name into www.google.com. Choose the first result, and then choose "our blog" on the left-hand side. (Hint: My last name is spelled completely phonetically.)

I usually post on Saturday or Sunday, since we rotate posting among our staff. I haven't posted in the past week or so, so you'll have to scroll or choose the archives.

3. Item the third

It's a long weekend …

and I have a new book. (Pudd'nhead Wilson, courtesy of Mark Twain and Emlyn.) Life couldn't be better.
